Supported by the Internet Society Foundation, SSIGIL is delivered in collaboration with a network of distinguished global partners, including the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE), the United Nations University – Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), the University of Surrey, and Stetson University College of Law.
The inaugural edition, held in 2024, launched the Trusted Internet Summer School series under the theme “Satellite Internet: Trust and Data Governance.” Building on that success, the 2025 edition (22–26 September 2025, University of Łódź) continues to explore the legal, technical, and governance dimensions of satellite connectivity and disaster relief, within the framework of international law, cyber governance, and sustainable development.
The Summer School offers a week-long programme of expert-led lectures, workshops, and interactive exercises. Participants engage with topics such as digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, data governance, critical infrastructure protection, and Internet resilience—bridging legal principles with the challenges of global digital policy.
Participation in SSIGIL is free of charge, with a limited number of fellowships available to support travel and accommodation. Through its international faculty and collaborative environment, SSIGIL fosters a vibrant network of scholars and practitioners dedicated to shaping a trusted, open, and resilient Internet through research, education, and global cooperation.
