The 20th Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2025) was held under the theme “Building digital governance together” — and Łódź had a seat at the table. Lodz Cyber Hub co-organised three sessions at IGF 2025, in cooperation with GigaNet, the European University Institute, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Digital Affairs.

Open Forum #10 — Multistakeholder Internet Governance and International Law in Cyberspace
Session organised in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Affairs, and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the participation of Elena Plexida (ICANN) and Helen Popp (EEAS).
SSIGIL Final Document
All three sessions referred to the document “From Łódź to Geneva: On the Future of Satellite Internet,” developed by 14 researchers and practitioners from around the world during the Summer School on Internet Governance and International Law (SSIGIL) in Łódź. The document highlights access to the Internet as a human right, the key role of satellite infrastructure in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and the need for coherent legal frameworks for digital sovereignty.
