Our voice in the programme. On the second day of the Forum, 1 October, 12:00 to 12:45, Dr Joanna Kulesza, Director of the Centre for Research on the Application of International Law in Cyberspace "Lodz Cyber Hub" (Chair of Public International Law and International Relations, Faculty of Law and Administration), will take part in the panel "The United Nations: Towards Global Cybersecurity Governance". The moderator is Dr Joanna Pawełek-Mendez, Counsellor-Minister for Cybersecurity in the Security Policy Department of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The other panellists are Elizabeth Venn (Regional Cyber Security Coordinator for Europe, UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office), Elsa Bouly (Global Mechanism expert, French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs) and Aleksandra Orr (Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN Office in Geneva).
Why this matters for our work. The panel addresses a question at the centre of the Lodz Cyber Hub's research: how international law applies in cyberspace, and who bears responsibility for security in a global network. We link research with practice, and we share this knowledge with the next generation of specialists at our international summer school, SSIGIL (Summer School on Internet Governance and International Law), held in Łódź.
